    Haydock 2.05
    Cubanita

I cannot see this horse beaten judged on two runs this term, first up beating noble mission and astonishing, but it's second run really has me confident as cubanita travelled the best of all in a group two won by gospel choir and looked as if she came to win the race until she faded the final furlong, that was over 14f which she doesn't stay.
Back over 12f on her favoured ground I expect a comfortable win.

giving another chance to two I backed last time, and neither got any luck in running.

    3:35 Newmarket - Rye House
    3:50 Haydock - Parbold

Fancy waydownsouth 3 20 tomorrow. Right distance right ground for the horse. 4/1 very fair. Flynns local track too. Now owns the horse.

Thought he won with a lot in hand but big step up from handicap company to this. That said, race doesn't have a lot of depth, step up to 1m6f should suit and can't see why he'd run a bad race. Have backed him with PP who are money back 2nd or 3rd in that race.

Not the best day racing. Two bets for me.

2.40 Haydock. Here Comes When murdered a decent handicap field on soft ground over 7f at Chester last time. Won with any amount in hand. Step up in class to a Group 3 today but it doesnt look to be the strongest group race we will see this year. Trip and ground no issue and looks to be a horse going places. Got on at 7/1 earlier think the best price now is 5's.

3.05 Chester Pacific Heights finished 3rd in the race at Chester that Here Comes When won. The horse that finish 2nd Abseil was punted like defeat was out of the question at Sandown on Thursday but got pulled. I really think the first two home that day could prove to be group horses in time. Pacific Heights got hampered coming round the bend into the straight the last day but kept on nicely for 3rd should be fitter as going by his form he seems to need his first run of the season. He's got the perfect draw in stall 1 and hopefully sits in behind the leaders and goes two places better then last time. 7/1 available now with e/w 1-4 1/4 odds.

Ive done two singles and each way double.

Also interested in Commander Pattern in the 1.55 at Newmarket ran a super race at 50/1 on debut 16 days ago. Gave the odds on fav Realtra a real scare that day. Realtra is well thought of by the Fahey team and is entered in the listed race for fillies at Naas on Monday. The 3rd horse that day Bazzana has since won a Windsor maiden by 10 lengths. I just think that because Commander Pattern is trained by Alan Bailey and alot of the big stables have runners in this race today that he could go off a fews points bigger then he should if i can get 4/1 or better then i'll have a punt if not i'll leave him alone.

My fancies (betfair - singles and doubles)

    YORK - 1:50 - SIRUS PROSPECT (3/1)
    YORK - 2:50 - EVENS STEVENS (29/1) and MASAMAH (20/1)

Lads, think I've found a winner but can somebody, who knows, confirm if the draw bias advantage is considerable at York over 5 furlongs ?

EDIT : The going is good to soft.

Thanks Del. I've read that and one other site and they slightly conflict on opinion.

I think it may slightly favour high today but was hoping somebody who maybe goes or watches more often than me would have a personal opinion.

To be honest I've made my mind up but if somebody were to have a strong opinion I'd listen.

Always preferred having my horse drawn high in the York Sprints with give underfoot. Shouldn't make a massive deal either way where the horse is drawn really if they join down the middle.

I think from watching over the years (low the far side have a disadvantage when it is soft even when it is good in my opinion, say middle to high myself.

This is about as confident as I've been on a horse for quite some time.

BODY AND SOUL at 14/1 in the 2.50 at York is just slapping me off the page.

He has some quite excellent form in the book. His 2 year old form is very impressive and he has won races on varying ground and trip so is obviously quite versatile. Today's 5 furlongs and good to soft ground is perfect.

A poor run last time out has to be forgiven but he has a lot less miles on the clock than some and he can easily improve further.

3 of his 5 wins have come in races with 19 runners or more and this is no fluke as he was placed in another 19 runner race.

Trainer and jockey are in decent form too and I see no reason not to have a decent bet today.

EDIT: Having read the above then draw 1 might not be ideal.

If anyone knows about york it will be the Easterbys and I assume they will tell the jock to track over to the middle if he can and try to work his way thru the field from there, seemed to travel very strongly in his last race so may have the pace to go where he wants in this field, at 14s I would take a chance if I fancied him that much

    good luck

This is a very interesting statistic and probably the most important I would take after the ground condition. I always look at this for these kind of races and you've convinced me she is worth a bet.

I have backed the horse every race since i was told he was well thought of as a 2yr old and i have done very well out of him. I would disagree about travelling strongly the last day it was the first time i seen him struggle a long way out. He usually travels very strongly and is one of the last of the bridle i was surprised how quickly he was off the bridle the last day so i think something was amiss. 14/1 is a cracking price.

I'm a big Body and Soul fan but I have the impression that they're trying to get her down the handicap a few pounds before letting the leash off possibly back at York at the Ebor meeting.

I'll be gutted if she wins today :)

    Good luck with your bet!

He is in fact a she ;)

Been a big fan of her since I saw her running on debut (jockey made a balls of it) and she duly hacked up next time out at 13/2.

    Chester 3:05

Gramercy ran a very good race in the Victoria Cup over this trip, is drawn well and off a workable mark, and that all adds up to him being value at 10.5 available on Betfair at the moment. There is a hell of a lot of luck involved in these races around here but that’s built into the price.

    1 Point win 10.5 Betfair

    Newmarket 3:00

    Burwaaz
has a reasonable record fresh and looks well in here on this mark. It wouldn’t be a huge surprise if he gave an improved performance here. This is a step down in class for him and doesn’t look the strongest 20k handicap. 16/1 is worth the risk.

    1 Point win 16/1 Stan/VCBET

    York 2:50

I’m going with a couple of outsiders here. Masamah is just the wrong price at 20/1. He has a good course record looks to be in form and is well capable of this mark. The other one in Even Stevens, he put in a couple of very good performances on the AW this winter but is on a far lower mark here with a 7lbs claimer on. He could well go off in front and be hard to pass. He also looks to have decent softer ground form and is worth the risk at a big looking 36 on Betfair

    1 Point win Masamah 20/1

1Point win Even Stevens 36 Betfair

Yeah bit disappointed with the ride on Here Comes When by Crowley although it looked like the ground had dried out overnight.
Pacific Heights won like i thought he would. And Commander Pattern was a no bet for me but ran a cracker again finishing second to a decent looking Hannon 2yo. He will win his maiden very soon.
