Hope the Green Parties posters are biodegradable, Eamonn Ryan still has 7 or 8 up on Cornelscourt Hill / Carrickmines. or maybe he's anticipating the upcoming by-elections.

Greens done us bad and shafted us.

Don't understand how he got so many votes.

If they had gained an MEP seat then it would have been seen as the dawn of a new era for the Greens and thank heavens they didn't.

I agree I can understand how he got so many votes.

If you PM me the location I can forward them onto the team collecting posters?

You may not agree with the previous government but Environmental Issues still matter, especially since the government seem hell bent of causing another bubble in Dublin.

Until other parties step up to the mark on planning, environment etc the Green party will have a clear purpose and support base.

Did people forget that the energy tax the greens introduced?

I do agree that they made a difference to the building guidelines, but it only came in after the building boom had ended.
They never financed the proper inspection of building projects - which is why developers knew they could get away with sub standard materials and designs

Given the government spending deficit, extra taxes were needed. The fact that the taxes are target to promote sustainable behaviour can only be a good thing?

At least you acknowledge that the Greens did get positive legislation passed.

I agree that they didn't get enough changed while in power, but there were many improvements made, which will hopefully help once building resumes.

Are you a member of the Green party by any chance?

I am a member, but only on the periphery. (I wasn't trying to hide anything :))

I am not a blind defender of the Greens, I made a concious decision not to join while they were in power as I did not agree with a lot of that Governments actions.

However I feel a lot of bashing the Greens is unfair, the party is held to a much higher standard than any other party, and achieved far more with 6 TDs than Labour are getting done with 37 TDs.

So you're happier with Nessa Childers as an MEP then?
