    Leader: Darkademic
    Website: http://www.darkreavers.co.uk
    Guildex Profile: http://wildstar.guildex.org/view-guild/1
    Facebook Page: http://www.facebook.com/darkreavers
    Founded: 1999
Location: EU (UK & Ireland based)
    Faction: Exiles
    Server: Hazak (EN PvP)

    WildStar Specific Info:

For launch we will be rolling Exiles on a PvP server. We intend to be involved in all areas of WildStar's endgame, including 20/40-man raids, warplots, rated battlegrounds, arenas and open world PvP.

We haven't nailed down a raiding schedule yet, but 2-3 days per week for each raid group is the aim.

We're a very mixed guild, with both hardcore and casual players and wide range of skill levels, so if you're looking for a guild with a very definite/specific focus in terms of skill or commitment then we're probably not the right guild for you.

    General Guild Info:

[DkR] is a long established UK & Ireland based gaming clan with an abundance of experience drawn from numerous games spanning multiple genres.

Although we aim to be highly skilled and thrive on competition, our priorities are enjoyment and a strong sense of community and friendship, and this will not change. Ensuring that all members feel welcome and valued is hugely important - we never want anyone to feel like they are just a name on a list or an anonymous follower.

Many of those who join [DkR] are considered members for life, and will always be welcome to participate in the clan even if they play in other clans at the same time, or if they decide to return after a long absence.

We normally only accept applicants aged 18 and older (average age of the guild is 28), and want members who take gaming seriously enough to play competitively, but not seriously enough to rage or get upset about it.

Our rules are mostly common sense and we ask for a reasonable level of activity from all of our members.

Head over to our website for more information or to apply.

    Cheers!

    Omphin

Do old members have to apply again?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 35 Chuey

Dark sometimes clears out old members who haven't logged on in a while (you might have got an email about it). If your account is inactive you can re-apply, we're accepting a lot of new members at the moment and some are returning after the falloff from GW2.

I applied (as Spandex). This name is too darned old at this stage!

I played alongside these lads in GW2 and SWTOR (I think, anyway) - Great bunch, especially when it came to World PvP in GW2.

Was dkr in swtor ? Must have happened after the Irish guild.

Might tag along side with some of the lads before joining as id like to see what it's like.

DkR didn't have an official SWTOR presence as far as I know. Omphin did run a SWTOR guild however and it was heavily advertised here at the time. After its decline Omphin and myself joined DkR for the GW2 release and haven't looked back since!

All of you get in here! experience the fun from launch date. Honestly, DkR are a deadly bunch of guys, to the point I go out of my way to recruit for us. Watch this video to the end just to see how what im talking about. This was just one night where the subject of "horse meat" came up.

They're down now until Saturday morning.

Would be cool to see some more irish gamers in DkR, great bunch of lads and lasses.

I played with these lads for a few months in Guild Wars 2, and had a blast. Great group, and will definitely join back up for Wildstar.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,902 ✭✭✭MagicIRL

Well, I got 100% downloaded but then watched Steven Segal being a policeman on TV instead! :P

I'm monitoring the game closely. Having been burned on MMOs lately by buying at launch, I don't know where I stand with Wildstar. Waiting to see how things fare out. Hopefully I'll have a few twitch streams to watch tonight.

It was indeed Omphin I was talking to back in SWTOR. What an awful MMO. I don't think I've played anything as poorly optimized as that in my life. Shocking. As for GW2, I think I recall running around with DkR in WvW although not as ana ctual guild member. I was running with Heresy Gaming but we'll see how things pan out in the future!

Not necassarily a bad thing if they have done their homework. Certainly dont want a SWTOR situation where servers baloon and die out.

All launch weekends are a pain so this should be no different.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,902 ✭✭✭MagicIRL

They (Carbine) apparently have another English PvP EU server ready to launch if needed but apparently they think they can handle the load. It certainly will be interesting!

I've gone from being in closed beta and never playing it to wanting this desperately. Every fibre tells me to staya way and wait but I'm trying to ignore myself!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,447 ✭✭✭Calhoun

Smart move on their behalf in a way i hope the gamble pays off, they should have done it earlier though if needed. PvP communities are not going to be happy if they are split.

At the same time i can see why they are doing it.

Played with DKR with GW2 for a while ,i rapidly got bored of GW2 but DKR are a decent bunch to play with.

Hoping to see alot of you guys in game if not in DkR.

Won't be joining you guys on Hazak unfortunately. Queues and me don't mix. I'll be on Eko PvE with Heresy for the time being.

Thinking the same thing, although im in DKR i simply cant be arsed waiting in queue, i havent got to play more than 5 minutes yet.
People banking on the queues dying down could be in for a letdown, rift had similar and went on for over a month.

Well look at WoW now. 10 years on and you'll still get a queue on Stormscale EU and Twisting Nether EU at peak times. Both English PvP servers with a rake of PvE guilds. Thanks but no thanks!

Anyone interested in coming to Eko PvE and wants to stick together could consider Heresy. I'm the only Irishman here though, and I don't wanna' derail DkR's thread.

Just to let you know what is going on with DkR with regards to our choice of server, here is a quote from Darkademic.

    Darkademic, on 01 Jun 2014 - 9:16 PM, said:

Firstly thanks for all the feedback. Feel free to continue that discussion here.

I've set up a DkR circle on Contagion (Exile), and Contagion will be our fallback server which we can use if Hazak's queues don't get any better in the coming weeks.

Don't panic if you're one of the people who supports staying on Hazak; this doesn't mean we've decided to move, or even that we're any closer to a decision about it; obviously staying on Hazak would be the ideal - but only if the queues get shorter. This is primarily for people who simply don't have the time to queue for 4-5 hours to play, but still want to play with DkR.

It's up to each individual to decide how to spend their time... people who are currently playing on Hazak can continue putting 100% into their characters on there if they want (so they're betting on Hazak's queues disappearing within a couple of weeks, or free transfers becoming available -- or they're not bothered about sticking with DkR at all), or they can spend some of their time levelling a clone (or alt) on Contagion to hedge their bets. People who don't want to (or are unable to) queue for Hazak can just play on Contagion.

If the queues on Hazak become acceptable then the Contagion-only folk will have to start from scratch if they want to play with the guild properly.. but at least it provides the opportunity to play with the guild to some degree in the mean-time.

The only alternative right now would be for half the guild to simply not play at all, since not everyone has 5 hours to burn every day.

Like I said in a previous thread, we'll take a step back on Wednesday and see where things are at, and decide whether it'd be a good idea to continue waiting, stick with Hazak, or move.

Who should I message for an invite ingame?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 35 Chuey

Hey Kirby, if you've signed up to the DkR Site, just use the ShoutBox on the forum to request an invite giving your char name, or if you're on our mumble just ask in the Wildstar channel.

Yeh I tried the mumble but apparently I have the wrong password?

  • Moderators, Computer Games Moderators Posts: 23,282 Mod ✭✭✭✭Kiith

The current password should be on the main website page, under the Muble tab showing who's logged in. Might only show up if you're signed into the site.

For those of you wondering if we will be staying on Hazak server, the answer is yes. I know many of you have rerolled on other servers because of the crazy queues times of last week. If you ever decide to come to Hazak then drop us a line. The queue times are always dropping

Alright, now that I'm 50 I'm considering transferring over to you guys should I make an application and be accepted.

Noob question but how do you actually transfer so I can check out the options, etc? :<

Transfers are only available from Hazak (and another high pop realm) to low pop servers. You can't transfer to Hazak yet afaik.

And after the ungodly amount of moaning from people who refused to use another server, I imagine it'll remain like this for some time.

Come and bring DkR to Eko!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,812 ✭✭✭IRL_Sinister

FYI for anyone interested turns out you can transfer:

EDIT: Got accepted, bought a Transfer and now I can't Transfer -_-

Just heard back from Carbine support they wouldn't make an exception and allow me transfer to Hazak :/

To be honest, I think the holdouts were proved right. The queues completely disappeared after a few days (horn tooting from me, Its exactly what I said would happen) and we have a vibrant server with a lot of high end guilds on it.

Yes your queues will die down, but they won't suddenly open up transfers in to that server. I think I've read that the game is bleeding players because questing is so god damn boring.

Really, where did you read that?

I don't have the time to re-roll now that I'm back in work. Only getting evenings from about 6:30 to midnight. Plus my character is fully blue/epic gear now at this stage with all Adventures on Gold. Would be too much backtracking for, what I would envisage, very little gain.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,905 ✭✭✭Noxin

I've been offline for a number of days myself and still won't be back until next week most likely.
When I do get home lately I'm so effing tired that I just play an hour of FFXIII or BF4 and end up passed out.

Hopefully be back early next week.

Might see about the Hazzak queues then as I'm in the mood for WPVP.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,812 ✭✭✭IRL_Sinister

How is attunement going for you guys? Transfers to Hazak are now open.
