    Hi All
i have a question that i know will be answered here.i live in an estate with15 houses in Kildare and we just got the Efibre cabniet install at the top of the estate to cover the local area and im am the last house in the estate and i am only about 150 metres from the cabniet. i get 1.5mbs at present from the exchange which is 6.6 km from us. (not to bad )
the question is do they also replace the cable from the cabinet to your house as well or do you use the existing copper cable that's there ?.
some houses at present cant get any broadband speed which i presume is a fault in the copper cable in the estate or in the house. do Eircom fix that for them and also if problem is in the house ?.
i am just looking in to it for the residents
my own question is the little white box outside the house were the black cable from underground is joined to the white one is the far side of the livingroom wall could i drill through that and place the modem that i get from them behind the tv were all my stuff is and it woujd only be about 12 inches of cable as i want to keep all behind tv, ie. cordless phone, modem.and use home-plugs to connect to a pc upstairs ?.
sorry about the long winded question but im not very tech savey
    Thanks

They use the existing copper cable. If the copper is faulty they repair to allow you get efibre.

The only reason I can see why someone in the estate cant get efibre is that they are fed on a cable not going through the efibre cab.
