Curious if anyone has any data on the water table level in South Dublin, bed rock depth would also be important too! I assume the average would be a couple of meters down at most in Ireland but I can't seem to find any details online.

Been thinking about the water charges and came across a lot of (US) sites showing people digging shallow wells (without paying a contractor thousands). It would be a great way of getting water for the garden but could also be used for grey water in the house if you had the correct setup.

The most expensive bit seems to be the pump and basic ones start at €200, so well below the expected €240pa average water charge.

    eg.

lonestar LS100 well drill (faster option if you could rent one!)
