Just wondering is there any unlimited broadband which does not require a phone line? I recall my friend having a portable wifi router from 3g years ago which was just plugged in. I dont want a phone line in the house since im renting. Any suggestions?

There should be plenty of fixed wireless providers offering it, it depends where you are located.

Im in the midlands. Apologies if i ask any silly questions as I am not well immersed in technology. Have you any suggestions of providers? Im finding it hard to get any unlimited packages without a phone line. I dont have a landline and have no desire to have one.

I have not tried wimax. I believe you must have a phone line for them too. I suppose i am looking for unlimited mobile broadband with a router that can just be plugged in. The house I am in has no eircom sockets.

Wimax is an antenna, no line.

Mobile broadband isn't broadband, its midband. Three have "unlimited" with a 15gb FUP. Most of the time.fixed wireless or phone line broadband(DSL) is far superior.

you can get fiber broadband with out the phone now, you do need the phyiscal phone socket but that more than likely already there.
