Just wondering is there a different road tax bracket for a superb 170 as opposed to the 140 , both dsg and both 2012.

Was there a 140 DSG in 2012? They introduced the 140 Greenline to get it in under 140g, but only manual and crap wheels.

I'll have the answer somewhere in work.

These are obviously uk models, but you can check the motor tax rate for any Irish car on motortax.ie

The tax band changes at 155g/km

    We've a 170 DSG combi. It's 570pa. Same as the 140 DSG with 4x4. Standard 140 DSG is 370 iirc.

Drogheda car sales have one R.O.R and western motors have a 170 one.

Which is better you think ?

If the price is right, go for the 170, as long as the tax isn't too much different.

Found price lists, the 140DSG is on the Skoda price list, but not the one from my dealer, from 09.

Skoda price list (DEC 09) has the 2.0Tdi PD 140bhp DSG as 177g, and the 2.0Tdi CR 170bhp DSG at 159g.

Have a June 2012 price list that doesn't list emissions, but has road tax rates on.

    2.0TDi CR 140bhp DSG is between 141g - 155g.
    2.0TDi CR 170bhp DSG is between 141g - 155g.

The Black one in Western is 157g. The 140 in Drogheda Car sales is 154g, so €180 a year cheaper to tax.

If they are priced close, I'd go for the 170 and damn the extra €3.46 per week you spend on tax. The purple isn't too bad in the flesh - looks Silver/Grey most of the time, but I'd still prefer the Black.
