Had thought about it but will probably do something equally silly in Munster

Offtopic: do you get a medal for riding a permanent? I'm thinking about doing a 300 later on this year, but none of those in Audax calendar seem to suit my life schedule.

(I know, its not about medals... but still, they're nice :-D )

was an early season plan but havent done enough .
Got through Mick Byrne but not with sufficient ease to have me ready for this.

maybe as a permanent in September if I get enough cycling in August while on holidays. maybe.

    Best of luck to all.

Remember when feeling the pain or exhaustion: this soon shall pass.

I'll be there. I rode the Mick Byrne at the weekend as a nice leg loosener! The REK is my most local audax event, it's only 4km from my house.

I'll be packing the suncream (and the winter tights for the night time).

Alek, I'd be on for riding a 300 as a permanent later in the year. I don't think you get a medal as you don't get a brevet card.

If the REK goes well I'll do the Red Lane 600 in July.

Final prep for this and trying to get to bed at a reasonable hour. Up at 04:00 and on the bike at 04:40 for the 20k spin to the start...

I left at 6:00am on Saturday and rolled back into Dublin at 02:55 this morning. It's a great route and we couldn't have had better weather. Thanks to Martin for the company for most of the ride. If we ever meet again I owe him a TGI burger. 413km for the day.
