Was looking at a 09 one of these. It has 140k miles on it which I suppose is high .

    Asking is 13900.
Not set on it but always liked them.

    Do they have many problems?
Is it even worth the hassle

Just put about 5 k aside for any issues inc suspension bushes which are very labour intensive.

You will get to know the receptionist name in Land Rover very well.

I know someone who bought a 06 one brand new top spec. Still have it about 200k km on it. Turbo went 2 years ago 2k euro and that's the only major work that was ever done. Do t think there was a whole lot of suspension trouble. Going by this they must be hit and miss reliability wise.

Log onto and read the UK Forum Disco3.co.uk.

A lot of Land Rover Bashing here imo. They are by and far the best.
And I've owned Toyota's and Land Rovers.

Always end up back with the Land Rover...

bushes arent to bad, no worse than other cars. polybush do individual bushes for them and a good indy landrover specialist one of which i'd happily reccomend, wouldnt be too hard on price for doing them. suspension issues are caused by people running them with leaky airbags so the compressor wears itself out. the height sensors arent dear either.

Except the bolts seize in the rear ones , meaning a days labour for what should be an hours job, will chew tyres if not done.

Here's one needs an engine, ECU's go in others

Recently moved from a series or earlier Disco 1 and 2s to a D3 (nice auto HSE) and am hugely impressed. Vehicle is impressively comfortable, very capable and well able to pick up speed when needed.

As to reliability, I am happy with it, it is a big complex machine and will probably case me some issues along the line, but by buying at a reasonable price and maintaining it sensibly, I look forward to our time together.

It brings a big smile to my face every time I sit into it. We have a BMW 520 (F10) as well, and when it is my choice, I will take the Disco every time.
