Hegemony Rome: The Rise of Caesar

Any of you strategy fans playing this?

I heard good things about Hegemony: Philip of Macedon a few years ago, but then it (and PC gaming in general) kinda went off my radar. But this has been well received by early access backers, and Longbow have a reputation for supporting games long after they've been released.

    Any feedback? No demo alas.

Looking forward to picking to picking this up during the week. I held back from the alpha but have heard decent things about it. Never played the earlier ones.

There's a demo of Hegemony: Philip of Macedon on Steam if you're undecided.

I quite enjoyed it and bought the game fairly recently after trying the demo. I also joined the Rome beta. Game mechanics are quite similar in both games, so if you enjoy the demo you will most likely also enjoy Rome.

Thanks! Didn't spot that. Will give it a go during the week maybe, but won't be buying Hegemony Rome (or any other game) 'til I sort out a few finances.

I also echo Sephiroth_dude's Q re: comparisons with TW.

I've been following the company and series for a fair bit. I've yet to bite on one of their games but that's more because of a mounting unplayed list rather than anything else.
