El Al and airspace ban question?

    I was looking at Flightradar24.com yesterday evening and noticed an EL AL flight that was approaching Tel Aviv from Bangkok, it was coming in over Jordan and the flight path showed a route over Saudi Arabia and the UAE.

    I always though most Islamic states banned Israeli airlines from their airspace (Jordan, Egypt and Turkey being exceptions)

    Has this policy changed or is Flightradar in error?

    Not allowed to enter Saudi Airspace, but there is a gap of airspace between Saudi and Egypt that they fly along, we can hear them transmitting blind on Saudi ATC channels, but they are never answered.

    Do you mind explaining that a little more? Are they just reporting position in case there's other traffic but the Saudis ignore it?

    This is taken from the Jeppesen ATC section for Saudi Arabia:

    c. non-RVSM compliant aircraft shall be in level flight and maintaining FL250 Southbound and FL260 Northbound;
    d. communicate all flight details on the appropriate ACC frequencies;
    e. flight details shall include: 1. call sign; 2. direction of flight; 3. flight level; 4. estimated time of crossing FIR boundaries and over or abeam reporting points along flight route.
    f. flight details shall be broadcast 10 minutes prior to crossing FIR boundaries and 5 minutes prior to passing compulsory reporting points;
    g. maintain a listening watch on appropriate ACC frequencies.
