I'm a 21 year old guy and I'm planning on learning to drive this Summer.
I don't want to spend over 1500 on the car due to it being a first car and budget is tight anyway.
Have looked into insurance quotes as well and I've being getting cheaper quotes on 1.4L and 1.0L are coming back more expensive.
Pretty much open to any car(except micras) and would like it to be above 2000 if possible.
    Thanks in advance.

Look for a clean fiesta 1.25, you should get an 02-04 if you find somebody looking for a quick cash sale. No point going to a dealer at that price point. Trick is finding one that has been reasonably well cared for, a chat with the owner will give you clues. Try to bring somebody who knows a bit about cars when buying. Do be advised that any car for € 1500 is a bit risky, you could get lucky and get a few years trouble free motoring from it or it could break your heart.

The Fiesta is a good car but they are prone to rusting and it is very hard to find one these days that doesn't have rust.

OP, I'd have a look at a 1.3 Toyota Corolla around the 1999 vintage, these cars are very reliable, alternately a Mazda 323 is worth a look at too.

A Mazda 323 is just as prone to rust as a fiesta though.

    Just saying.
