Rent supplement and BTEA payment

I'm a student, just finished my second year, will start my third year in September.
I'm receiving the BTEA payment during the academic year and I receive rent supplement.

The BTEA payment is stopped over the summer and I get put back on job seekers and I'm expected to look for work, I would like to work for the three months I'm out of college, but I'm afraid if I get a job that when September comes I will have difficulty getting my rent supplement again.

I could not afford to live if my rent supplement was not reinstated the week I return to college and stop working.

I hate dealing with the staff in the welfare office, bar one or two of them that are quite helpful, They seem to go out of there way to make things difficult for me any time I have to deal with them.

I know full well if I went up and asked they would say, O yeah sure you can definitely go back on it in September, but when September comes I'll be told that was wrong, I shouldn't have been told that and I'll have to wait 6 - 12 months yada yada yada.

Does anybody have any information on this?
