Why do women in general have terrible taste in music?

Have you ever noticed that women generally have really, really poor taste in music. Now, I know that we'll probably get plenty of women posting in this thread that like good quality indie/rock music, but in general I think that women just aren't into music at all.

3 women in my office attended the One Direction concert last night. These are all intelligent, well educated women aged mid-20s+, yet they still probably spent a fortune to see a young boyband miming some crappy pop songs for about an hour. I'd say that the vast majority of the crowd for 1D was probably made up of women and teenage girls. I don't think that you would get as many young men attending a Girls Aloud concert and this probably proves my point that men are just more interested in music and therefore have better taste.

I've tried to discuss different types of music and some of the great bands both past and present with the girls at work, but they simply don't have a clue and simply aren't interested.
