Recently noticed starlings taking nasturtium leaves to feed to their young!
    Is this normal?

They should be using them to freshen the nest rather than feed the young. Starlings, among other birds, use herbs and scented leaves to keep the nest free of parasites. It was found that some birds use cigarette butts and that it reduced the number of mites in nests.
