Couple of speculative fancies for me this evening for small eachway loose change. Halucha 7.50 towcester patrick power paying 4 places - he won this last year (albeit off a much lower mark( and knows this place better than any in the line up having run here 9 times (won twice, couple of places), has an entry for huntingdon for the 27th so hopefully that points to him being in good fettle. The other is Teetotal at Pontefract, this is one grade higher than he's won in before so not a confident choice but the trainer/joc combo generally do well. Follow at your peril :pac:

Daliyan tonight in Cork. Think he's well handicapped on the flat after a few nice runs over hurdles.

Guys, does a rule 4 affect the straight forecast ?

    I presume it doesn't.

edit : what i mean - is there a reduction from the straight forecast.

Pure Poteen in the 7.50 at Towcester is interesting. There was a bit of local info about this horse last time out. The family that sold him as a pointer said he could develop into a semi decent horse in England. This is a poor race tonight, the fact he's 7/2 favourite after a mediocre performance LTO tells us everything we need to know about the rest of the horses in the race. He'll love 3 miles, he'll jump 100% & he's only carrying 11 stone 1. I must admit do I love backing pointers this time of the year but because I know the former owners expect him to be a half decent handicapper he must have some ability, whereas the others in the race seem to be fairly poor to say the least, & I'd be willing to back him at 7/2 but not if he goes shorter.

He is well backed Motivator, and he caught the eye last time he did well to finish so close having been badly hampered. Handicapper seems generous to drop him 2 lbs for that, I took a chance on him at 5.6 after having a look.

That explains why he's 7/2 so, what price was he this morning? I'm in work & all the bookmakers websites are blocked!

Ballyvoneen in the race after should go close, Neil King loves sending him back out quickly & he's a course & distance winner.

I didn't actually see it I was listening to the commentary, there seemed to be a few hairy moments alright but from the sounds of it he did it despite a few shaky moments. I'm looking forward to watching the replay later.
