Eircom broadband offering a Vodafone mobile discount?

I signed up for Eircom broadband a couple of months ago, it was from a guy who came to the door.
I was happy enough with the deal so I signed up on the spot, no problems so far.

I seem to remember him saying something at the time about getting a discount with vodafone mobile if you were an eircom customer or eircom giving a discount if you had a vodafone mobile.
I know it sounds wierd, my wife recalls it too but not the details.
At the time I didn't pay much attention because I was under contract with Meteor but am thinking of switching to Vodafone at the moment.

Does anyone have any idea what I'm talking about or am I going crazy?

    No such deal exists.

Eircom do have a bundle that includes phone service with eMobile (who they own along with Meteor).

Vodafone had a small discount for Vodafone mobile costumers who also take up their broadband products.

Likely the sales person was lying to you to get a sale, never trust a door to door salesman.

There wouldn't be a cross network discount no. If you had Vodafone landline and Vodafone mobile (bill pay) on certain plans they will give you a discount. There is a €10 discount available off the landline if you sign for 2 years and are on certain mobile phone tariffs. Hope that might take things a bit clearer

Never, ever, buy something at your door!
