Pop star's racist tweets from before she was famous (Iggy Azalea)

Iggy Azalea - I've heard the name bandied around in the media quite a lot. I wouldn't recognise any of her songs, myself, but I'm aware that she's quite prominent in the pop celebrity world.

Well, she made these tweets back in 2011...

Those are the comments of a current pop celebrity.

She was 20 years old when she made these comments, she's now 24. Here is her attempt at a defence:

This happened over the past few years, so it's not brand new information, and that is exactly what struck me about it. I'm not familiar with any of her music but I still know that she is one the pop celebrities that the media is supporting and her record company and management are actively building a fanbase for her - and they are succeeding. I think this is the epitome of the generation of delinquent Twitter/internet kids/teens/young adults who put 15 minutes of internet fame above all else, even above basic respect for other humans, races and minorities.

Obviously, it is a minority of the 14-22 age group, but it is a ****ing huge minority, especially given the circumstances, encouraged by the instant fame (albeit 15 minutes) you can get by making outrageous comments on the internet. Kids are openly putting fame above morals, and now they are getting subliminal support for this behaviour from complete arseholes like this "thing" Iggy Azalea and the media support she's being given. I think it's horrific.

Which basically all comes down to my one question: why is she allowed be a thing?
