Apparently Hendo brought Cormier some Popeye's takeaway/fast food during the weigh in!

Hendo is 6/1 to win here. I'll be having a few bob on it!

    I got a free €2 on PP, Hendo @ 5/1 ... Ill be loaded :-p

His only hope is landing that super right hand, ...I thought Shogun hammered him the last day, don't want to say he got lucky, he has well proven himself over the years, he's a legend, but I would hate to see him go out, getting smashed to pieces...some chin tho, I love the man !

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,698 ✭✭✭Gumbi

Hendo's chin held up in the Shogun fight, albeit barely. He was very shaky on his feet each time he recovered. I don't want to it fail him this weekend but it's a real possibility. Cormier is just too fast for him IMO and beats him everywhere. If Hendo were to land a right hand though... what a story. Coming up on 44 and already a legend, off the TRT and gunning for a title shot. Crazy stuff.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 51,342 ✭✭✭✭That_Guy

Heart says Hendo but head saying Cormier. His last fight against Cummins was as non-competitive as they come but the guys he has beaten speaks volumes. Win here and he's surely next in line for a title shot.

I was worried about Hendo in his last fight V Shogun but he has a serious chin and even more serious power. I've never seen anybody fly so far back when he landed Shogun with a short right punch. Incredible.

Will be rooting for Hendo but Cormier will be too fast for him imo.

Still 6/1 is a crazy price for Hendo to win and is not a price I'll be ignoring easily.

If Cormier wants to wrestle with Hendo he'll put himself in range of that right hand.

6/1 good price for an upset

Cormier has been in there with some powerful heavyweights
Theres no denying he has a great chin also
cormier wins this however he likes

I'd rarely write off any fighter but I'm writing off hendo
He can't possibly win this fight imo

Hard to see past barao, tj not ready for this step up

Looking forward to seeing holdworth again, think that guy
    has a big future

    And most importantly...Go Robbie

It was during the week. The weigh-in hasn't happened yet.
In the video hendo was way under weight, not sure what that was about.

Also, Barao is an animal. He will probably get done for attempted murder after this.

He always fight under weight. He usually weighs in at ~202. He was 197 though in this video, and even after a workout that's low. TRT wearing off? Who knows. He did joke about being able to fight at 185 by tomorrow., although he did seem to be mildy annoyed by it.

I love the mutual respect the two have for each other. ****ing fantastic watching them ait opposite each other and tell the other how they're going to win. Cormier has so much respect for Hendo, you could see that as he was telling one of the radio guys or something what a tough son of a bitch Dan was, somewhat in awe of him. :P

I dunno. There's a pretty steady decline rather than always being under imo.
    207 vrs Fedor (for reference)
    205 vrs Machida
    204 vrs Vitor
    202 vrs Rua

We'll have to see what he hits here, but it looks to be light. I'd be surprised in TRT didn't at least play a small part.

This embedded series is great crack, the respect dc and dh have is enjoyable, Dana banned from his fourth Casino! Madness

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 133 ✭✭chrisbag1986

Renan is a machine and I am so looking forward to this fight. TJ is a killer also, in regards ending fights.

Love how Dana says Jones is the best P4P in the world when he was last fighting and now Renan is the best P4P ( even tho he has not scraped ). gotta love promoters.

Cant see past DC. DC to take hendo down and GnP ( easier said than done ). Hendo cant even move his head. Neck looks as stiff as an erected pen15. but with his Hendo bomb he is always in it, standing...

He weighed in at 199. Eek!

    I seen that.
As I said, he never really fight under 205 until the recent decline.
6lbs under is a lot. Add to that what ever DC is cutting and that's a significant size difference.

Yep. DC gonna be near 220 tomorrow. Not to mention he is younger, faster, and more technical in every area. Dan has two big assets: an iron chin and a big right hand. I think his chin is on the verge of failing, sadly, and Cormier hasabsolutely nnullified the strengths of his opponents so far, and will no doubt do the same to Dan.

I love betting on the outsiders. TJ, Hendo and Ellenberger would net me a nice couple of quid. Not gonna happen but I got a free bet from Paddy so I said sure why not!.

Ya, sick, locked in tight straight away and he (Al) couldn't hip walk to escape as the cage was there. Slick submission.

Iaquinta didn't sense the trouble he was in until it was too late. Quality finish

ah fcuk, Varner is 1 tough guy, how he carried on for 4mins with a broken ankle!!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,698 ✭✭✭Gumbi

I was worried it was worse, a torn ACL or something. Ofc a broken ankle sucks but it's not going to affect his as much as a torn ligament.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,762 ✭✭✭peejay1986

Dana just tweeted that it's Varner's leg that's broken. Wow. No way he'll be cut after that loss.

I f*cking love that Robbie Lawler is at his peak right now! I've always been a fan but he's never been able to really put it all together.

I'd love to see him get another title shot!

"Khabib" Cormier completely dominating hendo here. Man against boy

Really does look like a MW against a HW out there

Proves just how disgraceful that matchup was. Total domination. Should never have been matched together. Great performance from DC nonetheless.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 19,323 ✭✭✭✭MrStuffins

Hendo surely has to be finished now. Or at least finished at LHW

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 650 ✭✭✭csallmighty

Impressive by Cormier, but who does he think he is calling out Jon Jones.

To be honest I don't think this really makes a difference to Henderson's career. It was just a woeful matchup. Hope Hendo drops to MW and stays there for however many fights he has left in him.

Didn't Hendo say the winner was promised a shot at Jones? Either way, I don't see anything wrong with him calling Jones out. DC should face the winner of Jones/Gustasson II, in my opinion. Only option in my eyes.

Don't know why anyone would expect anything else. Like Hendo said, he is smaller than most MWs. Did anyone see him standing next to Luke Rockhold in the Embedded vids? Rockhold towers over him. Not only size, but Hendo is old, has many miles on him, has good wrestling, but nothing on the level of Cormier's. Cormier is 20 pounds heavier, younger, faster, more athletic, way better conditioning, the list goes on. Hendo has a big right hand but that doesn't help when you can't stop the TD and have a guy much bigger and stronger on top of you...

Great fight here, Dillashaw is surprising me, knew he was handy but he's taking Barao apart here

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,762 ✭✭✭peejay1986

Barao is still not right after that Rd 1 knockdown. Doesn't look settled at all. TJ is picking him off at will.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,762 ✭✭✭peejay1986

Fair f_cks to TJ, that was incredible. Tore Barao to absolute pieces.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,750 ✭✭✭ASOT

Im in shock, was expecting barao to absolute ruin TJ! Props to the man he looks way better than hes ever performed!!

I love Barao but Team Alpha Male is where its at! Mendes will complete the double in August!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,959 ✭✭✭✭scudzilla

I know Rogan normally exaggerates but when he said that was probably the best performance he's seen i tend to agree with him, he didn't just beat Barao he destroyed him on every level

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 650 ✭✭✭csallmighty

That was great fair play to TJ
