The sunday times have been offering mini versions of their rich list since the main one was out on sunday, today is the richest people in sport in GB&I. Bit of an odd list, as it includes footballers playing in but not from GB&I.
If rory gets the first payment on the Nike deal he will fly up that list.

Poults has more than Yaya Toure, no wonder he's making up nonsense to squeeze more out of City.

There is so much money in golf it's ridiculous .

He was on a serious deal with Chelsea, being one of the top earners in the Prem for that contract.
He also has a few non footballing interests. For one, he has gone into business with Brian O'Driscoll, not sure how much that is contributing to his fortune though.

I'm guessing RVP would have been well ahead if it wasn't for Arsenals fairly modest (relative) wage cap.

I didn't expect many golfers up on the list at all.
With the likes of Yaya getting paid a salary of 1million a month, I would have thought it would be fairly hard for golfers to be in the same league considering they have to "earn" :P their winnings

Was very surprised to see more basketballers in the top ten then golfers.

    Who is Steve Nash??

Had to google a few names = basketball players.

Steve squeezed in the list somehow, born in South Africa, grew up in Canada, currently plays with the LA lakers.... must have a British parent (& passport) to get into the list.

Yep his mother is Welsh and father is British. He's been around the NBA for a long time and he's still playing at 40 years of age!

I'm surprised to see the likes of Poulter and Clarke well up there on the rich list, I thought a few more football players would have surpassed them. I'd say McIlroy will shoot up that list within the next few years too.

Where is Beckham, he would easily top the list.

    No Eddie Irvine either.

Beckham is retired and not technically in sport anymore I suppose.

But doesn't Poulter have his own clothing range company which would have a large value... Bit more of a business man than Yaya - not just purely on winnings...

Always wondered how they came up with these lists or how accurate they are. There is no way they can know how much anybody is actually worth.

Strange to see Harrington so high up given that it was widely reported he had a few big losses arising out of investments made during the celtic tiger years. He wouldn't exactly be attracting big sponsorship deals over the last few years.

Wasn't Darren Clarke almost broke when he won The Open a few years back? How has he made that much since then.
