Use Windows 7 Home Premium Disk to install Windows 7 starter?

I wonder can I do it? I have a Windows 7 32 bit disk and I want to install Seven Starter on my netbook, I have the original Key and I'd just prefer to do it this way than installing from the Recovery Partition which will just fill then netbook with Samsung's bloatware and spamware.

The netbook hasn't got an optical drive but I can transfer the contents of the DVD to make a bootable USB stick and install from that to the netbook.

Never had the need to do it but i read every version was on the disks and the relevant one installed depending on the key.

Not the case with windows 7 generally.

All the versions are on the disk but you have to modify the ISO to make them available. You do it by removing the e1.cfg file from the iso. See http://www.mydigitallife.info/create-windows-7-universal-iso-with-all-editions-selection-on-install-with-ei-cfg-removal-utility/

I've done it to use my Ultimate CD to reinstall Home Premium on a laptop which didn't have any installation media.

Thanks for the advice, that worked a treat and is useful info to know, I was able to download the official Microsoft .iso image file from the link below

then I made a bootable USB stick however after going to the bother Windows rejected my license as it had gotten rubbed off the sticker and I had only recovered it using Magical Jellybean Key Finder, and that stupid thing gave me the wrong key. Telephone activation also failed.

I have now decided to opt for Linux as it is a 4 year old old Netbook and it was struggling with Win 7 starter anyway.

Its a bit late now but I actually tried 6 different keyfinders so suspicious was I of them, the first two blocks of 5 characters on the sticker were barely legible but did not correspond to what I was getting back from the Keyfinders. And Win 7 was on it for the last 4 years.

I tried 6 programs and they all gave me the same Key
