As per title, aluminium framed bike wanted.

Before I go and buy a commuter I said I'd ask on here to see if anyone has anything they are selling shortly, or are thinking about selling.
CX or Road bike. Drop bar bike, Ideally with 53/39 gearing if a road bike, but will consider compacts. 10 speed shimano/sram only. size 52/54 (top tube of about 535). Must be in good condition. I may also consider a good steel framed bike. Nothing too heavy tho.

    Thanks,
    Lenny

Hi Lenny, I've the ribble steel I recently posted on your commuter thread if you've any interest?

Size 52, shimano 105, new gatorskins, mudguards and rack. Very little use since built in November and unlikely to get much (hence thinking of selling)

    Cheers

Hey Longford76, What sort of price would you be talking about? I assume you are based in Longford?

Sorry deceptive username...based in Dublin. I met you before at GAA club beside Sandymount for a set of wheels.

I'm not too sure on price but would let it go for €450 maybe given many new parts including frame and forks (tyres, sks mudguards, tubus rack).

oh yeah. I still have those wheels :)

You mentioend it was a bit heavier than you thought it might be. How heavy is it with the rack and guards? What sort of mileage is on the groupset? It looks like a compact. What wheels are they?

    thanks

I don't have a scales to check unfortunately. I think i just thought it would be light but then it is the same as the steel single speed I have with same rack and mudguards. I know that doesn't really answer your question or give away much.

It is a compact and wheel and groupset came off a focus variado expert I split and sold frame and fork of. The wheels are the Rodi Stylus Concept (the link below still works to show the wheels and maybe give some more description). Overall I'd say 1,000 - 1,500kms max on the groupset but all still functioning perfectly and new cables etc fitted when built up in November.

Longford76 was an absolute gent to deal with. The bike is lovely, and lighter than I thought it was going to be. Happy days. Off to put some serious commuting miles on it now! Thanks again Longford76

Hey Lenny, I have a standard double ultegra 6600 crankset 170mmcranks that I might be interested in swapping for a compact.
PM me if interested (if that ain't against forum rules)

hey buzwaldo - what sort of miles is on the crankset? What condition are the chain rings in? If we do a deal I will pm you but for now lets keep it all in thread just in case its against the rules :)

Bought a second hand bike 2 years ago which previous owner had changed to a compact. He gave me the original cranks also, but they have been on a shelf since. Can't say how many miles but look ok to me, some chain rub on arms. The bike was about 2 years old and generally good condition.
Recently got another bike, courtesy of Fender76 on this site, which I could use a compact for.
What colour is the compact? Mine is silver.
    Will search for a pic.

Thanks buzwaldo. I think I would be interested in a swap. I have attached a pic of the fsa gossamer I have. Its also a 170mm. chainrings look good. couple of scratches on the arms, but overall not too bad. I work in Dublin and will have the bike with me during the week if you want to take a look.
