Just watching the recent news in Nigeria which like Uganda has a lot of oil.
I know for those living in a little bubble, I'm batsh!t insane to suggest US would even consider sponsoring Islamic terrorism in Africa as an excuse to deploy US military.

It's not like US haven't done it before by helping overthrow Gaddafi in Libya or funding terrorism in Syria with the hope of intervention.

The FMF (Foreign Military Financing) program gave African militaries $45 million to buy American-made weapons in 2011. Tunisia received the most cash ($17 million), followed by Morocco ($9 million) and Liberia ($7 million).

Just wondering what people's thoughts are on the result of this military deployment throughout Africa.

What are the odds of new wars starting there and the effects of such? Place your bets ...

What about China? Haven't they been focussed on Africa for a while now?

Oh, no doubt China were working diligently throughout Africa while US was busy blowing up Iraq, Afghanistan and Yemen to name a few with their phony 'War on Terror'

I'm keeping an eye on the new 'Terror' group in XinJiang, China here which appears to be attempt at destabilizing central Asia.

US troop deployment in Africa could be response to growing Chinese influence or again just to destabilize the region with arm sales and more phony Islamic terrorist groups.

Tunisia and Morocco while in Africa are Arab countries and have always been more pro western than not. Liberia was founded by America. So no conspiracy there.

Like most conspiracy theories you're missing the elephants in the room. The quiet Chinese conspiracy to gain control of Africa's resources and the Islamic conspiracy to convert the whole continent, by force if necessary.

If anything the Americans are not taking either of these situations seriously enough.

There is a documentary called 'God Loves Uganda' about US megachurches funding Christian fundamentalists in Uganda. Apparently these Christian fundamentalists are some of the people promoting the death penalty for homosexuality. They are gaining massive support.

I haven't watched the documentary yet, but that is the brief synopsis I read. It got 100% on Rottentomatoes so there must be some truth to it.

No, I didn't. The Chinese don't use fictitious reasons for having a presence on the African continent, we know why they're in Africa, it's to acquire resources for their economy.

I already know this so why can't you accept US/EU are there for same reasons? No, that's too far fetched, US could only be in Africa to help people....

The US and EU need to lie otherwise people at home wouldn't support their actions. How could people back home believe we have honorable reasons for being in Africa? We have to maintain the belief China = Bad, US = Good.

So they talk about human rights abuses and gay rights for example because they know most people think with their emotions instead of logic.

US/EU leaders tell the public they're over "helping" arm, train the local authorities that suddenly have to start fighting with rag tag Islamic mercenaries which were strengthened/supported by NATO.

This whole Joseph Kony story for example must be real joke for staff at US state department yet so many people believe that's what the US military are doing in Uganda, to hunt down 1 guy even a journalist was able to find and meet within a couple of days.
...and the Islamic conspiracy to convert the whole continent, by force if necessary.

Michael Scheuer was very critical of western support for so-called Arab Springs, I quote:

"There is not going to be a democracy in Tunisia, or Libya or Egypt that in any way resembles democracy in the west and yet what they've done is create anarchy.

They've created a situation where the only beneficiaries are the Islamists.

The guns that have flown out of Egypt, out of Tunisia, out of Libya to the Islamists have been enormous in their volume and the prisons that were opened in Egypt, Tunisia and Libya have reinforced Islamic groups across the world.

Their mindless pursuit of secular democracy endangers the stability of the region and probably the whole world."

I think it's convenient these Islamic groups turn up where ever the US wants to deploy their military, is it not? NATO countries support these Islamic militants in various conflict zones, it just depends on what NATO objectives are.

US will support Islamic militants in Chechnya against Russia or against Assad in Syria and also against Gaddafi in Libya.

Would you at least acknowledge you have a superficial understanding of how these Islamic groups are funded, armed and trained by the west?

How difficult is it to predict the outcome of toppling Gaddafi in Libya and what we see happening now in Nigeria?
If anything the Americans are not taking either of these situations seriously enough.

That's your assumption. Gaddafi was an African leader removed by NATO and the so-called Arab Spring was obviously funded/organized by those affiliated with NATO countries.

There was never any intention of creating stable Arab democracies.

I'm not saying Gaddafi was a good leader but at least the country wasn't screwed up the way it is now.

This is the big joke for me.

People genuinely believe US state department cares about LGBT rights in countries like Uganda when at the same time they actively support Saudi Arabian police state where homosexuals are executed and women have no rights at all.

But we have to feed the public some bull**** reason for being in Uganda, don't we? So, gay rights is one of the reasons they cite and it's really piss poor but it works.

Hi Harold, heard a similar something with regards to the whole possibility of the kidnapping full stop is faked..
And, yeah you guessed it, another well manipulated lie, in order for international "help" to be needed,
Obviously to come in and help them with all that oil, gold, diamonds and any other natural resource
