Let's see how Mirian, Claire or David explain RTÉ's cack handed fixing of the panels tonight. Although, we're not supposed to 'read anthing into that'.

Note the earlier start time tonight.

These Dubs aren't up to late nights.

In fairness, they need all the beauty sleep they can get. ;)

    Constituency and candidates.

About time there was an early start, finishing it up at midight doesn't suit most people :D

    Predictions

Any criticism of FG will lead to Hayes criticising FF for putting them in that position
Any criticism of Labour will lead to Costello attacking SF without answering the question
Any criticism of FF's past will lead Fitzpatrick to say that it is not their responsibility for what FG and Labour are doing
SF will spend more time talking about the north than Europe. Boylan will continually point to SF's alternative budget.
Eamon Ryan will deny that he supported any previous policies.
Neasa Childers actually tries to focus on European issues but spends more time dealing with national issues.
Direct Democracy will sound appealing for about 10 seconds, and then one of them will say something absolutely bonkers and you realise why you will never vote for them.
The rest will give out about RTE bias.

I notice the name 'Jim Tallon' in the list of candidates. In the unlikely event that he's present, be prepared for a whole new level of crazy.

When the local and european election results come in, they'll begin to feel some serious pain.

There's no costings per litre of water so how does she know we won't be paying €500?

Emer Costello is married to Joe Costello TD, there is a bit of an age gap between them, she is 51 and he is 68.

I have way too much time on my hands this evening :o

    Tax bomb, I love it!
That phrase will get associated with SF very quickly.

I wouldn't be attracted to him, but he is good looking.

The bank debt is gone, we will have to pay it in full, waste of time going on and on about what was signed over.

Did I miss much in the first 20 mins.

    No? Ok.

Brian Hayes looks a lot different than he does on his election posters.

Did he change his brand of toothpaste or something?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 7,973 ✭✭✭RayM

She's giving too much time to brian hayes

As far as I'm concerned, any amount of time looking at his smug face is too much.

Brian hayes with his idiotic examples of Bullets and Bombs, jezz what sort of speak is this.

Hayes was coached to drop the "tax bomb" on SF at any opportunity. Quite clever if a little obvious. However the electorate would be fairly thick and easily led for the most part so that's a punch landed albeit a subconscious one in many respects. The longer SF can be associated with bombs/violence etc the better it is for the other parties.

Brian is losing votes every time he makes dirty digs about the other candidates. He reminds me of Bertie tonight, when Bertie didn't like someone's message he belittled them. Morgan Kelly had the last laugh though.

What I find nauseating is the way in which Fine Gael and Labour heads lick the balls of their leaders on national TV even though it is their seat they are fighting for.

They're all telling us what Eamon and Enda has achieved when they should be telling us what they are doing.

    Where's Brid Smith tonight?

She was on another debate on TV3 last night
