What kind of PSU do you have?

    Item|Price
    Intel Core i5-4570 Box, LGA1150|€169.51
MSI Z87-G45 Gaming, ATX, Sockel 1150|€99.00
    8GB-Kit Crucial Ballistix Sport Series DDR3-1600, CL9|€62.23
    Shipping|€18.99
    Total|€349.73

Once you scrape €200 more for a graphics card, something like a GTX760 will have you gaming quite comfortably ay 1080p.

Hi, just check the mobo, I think that's an overclocking board but the CPU isn't overclockable. If I'm right either change the Mobo or go with the 4670k for €35 more.

    Noted,
dont think I'll be buying for a few weeks tho anyway :(

May as well be looking at a "Z97" Mobo if overclocking.

    Or personally I'd go with a H97 ( 70-90) depends which brand.
    Xeon 1230. 205 euro.

Crucial ballistic 8 gig ram 1600. 59 euro.

And an SSD. Crucial 120 gig 56 euro.

    Asus H97 plus 84

    Approx Total 412. Delivered

With the rest of the 500 budget throw in a new better cooling/quieter case to house your new parts.

    Antec one- 50 euro. Corsair carbide 300r- 60 , fractal design r4 -85. Nanoxia deep silence 1 -90

different price ranges, but all good cases.

No need to change the case,
    I have a cooler master cosmos s.
Deffo interested in a quieter cooler for the cpu.
I have a cooler master seidon on my current cpu so something like that .

    Cool Master Seidon 120M?

    Yes.

AntDub was correct about the mobo-cpu combo and Sterling has a very good point about throwing a SSD in there.

    Option Cheap:

    Item|Price
    8GB-Kit Crucial Ballistix Sport Series DDR3-1600, CL9|€62.23
    Gigabyte H87-HD3, ATX|€80.96
    Intel Core i5-4670 Box, LGA1150|€187.19
    Crucial M500 120GB SATA 6GB/s 6,4CM (2,5") 7mm|€56.99
    Shipping|€18.99
    Total|€406.36

    Option Awesome:

    Item|Price
MSI Z87-G45 Gaming, ATX, Sockel 1150|€112.87
    8GB-Kit Crucial Ballistix Sport Series DDR3-1600, CL9|€62.23
    Crucial M500 240GB SATA 6GB/s 6,4CM (2,5") 7mm|€89.99
    Intel Core i5-4670K Box, LGA1150|€200.71
    Shipping|€18.99
    Total|€484.79

    SSDs make everything better.
    Everything.

You'll be driving to work in a good mood because of how snappy your PC is now.

I'd get the 240GB if you plan on gaming, I was constantly having to reorganise my games on my old SSD.
Keep movies and music on your magnetic HDD.

I had actually ordered a SSD during the week in an attempt to inject some life into my machine.
    its only a 120gig.
raging now as that 240 is only a bit more expensive :(

Use SteamMover to move the games you are currently playing to your SSD. Then use it again to move them back to your HDD when you are done. No redownload/reinstall necessary.

Also, (unless things have changed recently) I've noticed that once a (non-steam) game is installed, it will still run quite happily even if the installation directory is moved as long as you move your shortcuts too.

I ended up with a ropey SSD that kept getting corrupted and needed wiping and Windows re-installing every couple of weeks, so I put in a secondary HDD and installed all my games (and docs and settings etc.) and probably 90% of the games still worked perfectly from the other drive even after windows was wiped. :)
