    Hi

So been a long term sky customer having two boxes one +HD and all the channels.

Moving house I enquired about adding broadband to the bill and was given a deal were my tv bill would be reduced to 78 euro a month for 3 months and first 3 months of phone/broadband would be 30 euro.

Happy days working out at 110 a month for the first three.

Checked my bank account today and see a withdrawal from Sky for 139.

So ring them up and ask what's going on and get told despite the fact I only have the phone in 3 weeks dates overlapped and I was charged two months bills for the phone.

Then get told my bill next month will be 139 because the offer I received will be up.

Now obviously I'm not a happy customer so start saying no matter what way they try sneak in extra charges I was told 3 bills of 110 a month and that's what I expect and that's the end of the matter for me.

Manager on the phone quite insulting to me anyway offers me a ten euro credit on my next bill as a good will gesture.

Waiting on a call back now that could take up to 72 hours as he has forwarded my case on to the complaints department.

Fuming right now I'm still in the cooling off period on the phon/broadband contract plus in my eyes they have breached the contract by not making me aware of a double payment, as for the TV I'm a long time out of contract on that.

Tell them that they have not provided what they sold you and because of this there is no contract between ye and that you want to cancel everything and you will try out the free to air service for a year. Then request to be transferred to their cancellations department for your request to be completed.

Think that's exactly what I'll be doing if I don't get a good response from the complaint's department.

Once you agree to a contract over the phone the call is recorded and you are entitled to get a transcript of the conversation for a fee of €6.50 (not 100% on the actual fee but its around that figure)

If you are within the cooling off period then you can terminate the contract without penalty.

as for the TV I'm a long time out of contract on that.
Again, you can end the subscription but as you probably know you still have to give 31 days notice.

A general observation is that the T & C's are all available for reading online and most people are aware that these services all incur payment in advance. The only thing they cant charge for in advance is the phone calls you make that are not within the pack details.

I know people that ring up Sky to upgrade when they see a special offer only to be paying the normal price for Sports/Movies.

My advice would be to get the persons name that works for sky just in case they pull a fast one.

I mentioned the recorded phone calls and told them to go back and check at which point your man got a bit stuttery on the phone.

I will be ending it depending on what the complaints department have to say when they get in touch.
