Hi, I've just returned to Ireland after 10 years working abroad and I start a new job tomorrow. What information must I give my employer to get on the payroll / paying tax etc.

Just your PPS number. But you need to call Revenue to ask for a tax credits cert, otherwise you will get emergency tax

The new employer is asking for a copy of P60 .....?!? Is this correct ....? The last one i have is from 2004 !!!!

If you don't have a p60 to give them let them know. I believe it is possible to get a statement from revenue for your earning thus far this year, including anything like job seekers benefit.

    Your bank account number too

P60 isn't relevant in your case - you just need to give PPS number and bank details. I would ring revenue with the employer number today so you'll get your tax credit cert sent to you more quickly and hopefully avoid emergency tax. Also in 7-10 days double check with payroll that they have received the info from Reenue as sometimes they don't check
