    Hi all
As the title suggests mg washing machine has stopped spinning its making all the right noises but the drum isint spinning, it will move manually though.

From reading a previous thread on the same thing I thought that it was probably the bearings gone but for pig iorn I took the top off just to have a look and you can see that the belt is broke and there's bits of frayed rubber all around.

So really just wondering where would you go about getting a replacement belt and is it hard to do yourself? Or would I be as well to get a repairman in to do it do you think like would it cost me a fortune?? All advice welcome..

    Thanks

So the belt has been replaced and drum is spinning again and that end of things all seem to be fine now.

However there is still a random knocking noise as if there's something caught in the drum when it's spinning..

    Does ANYONE have any ideas?

    Cheers

If you hear a noise from within the drum it needs to be investigated, your w/m probably has a plastic outer tub that cant be opened so your best bet is remove the heating element and with a good flashlight have a look in through the opening. You should see whatever is causing the noise lying in there so you will have to fish it out with a wire clothes hanger or similar

Thanks for that. I havnt got a clue though where would I find the heating element? Will have a good look tomorrow.
