I just thought people would want to know that if you call the test center you can often get an earlier test date. I wrote them to say I was available for cancellations, and still got a test date of June 12. Calling the Rathgar test center I was able to get one for this Thursday (May 22) by taking a cancellation. Might be worth a shot if your test is far in the future!

(Note that their number is in saynoto1890)

Did you call the Rathgar centre directly or the central office where you apply for or cancel tests?

That's the non 1850 number for driver testing in Ballina. Testing isn't scheduled from the test centres.

Rathgar would have a 01 number also.

I found that number by entering the 1890 number I found at saynoto1890; regardless, they gave me a test date in Rathgar.
