Hi, I recently moved to Gorey. I was wondering what sports clubs there are here? I am thinking of running and cycling specifically. Info appreciated, thanks.

There's South East road club, they meet at Revolve bike shop (the one near Dunnes) Saturdays and Sunday at 9.30. I'll be working in Gorey tomorrow with a guy from that club if you want me to get you any more info?

Thanks Captain, no need, I'll turn up on my bike some morning next time I'm free.

South East Road Club are based between both Gorey & Arklow, have a lot of members and seem to be well run with lots of racers & leisure cyclists.
There is also Slipstream Cycling club based in Gorey, this is a much smaller club and the focus is on racing, some high performance lads getting good results.
There are lots of informal running groups in Gorey that hook up for Saturday or Sunday morning runs but no athletics clubs.
Outside of Gorey the biggest running club locally is Sliabh Buidhe Rovers with a very strong senior men setup and a growing women and juniors. A big club with plenty of members.
Another local option is Croghan Athletics Club, set up in recent years and seem to have gained a lot of members.
Craanford Harriers are another new club but I *think* the focus is strictly underage.
Finally, Racing 795 are based in Bunclody and are a triathlon & mountain biking club, regularly seen at both running and cycling races around the area, as well as mtb & tri.
