Hi. My girlfriend and I are considering going to Thailand for 2 weeks or so at the end of July, beginning of August. If we do go, we will be staying on Phi Phi (no choice in the matter, following friends!).
I have read reports of stormy/rainy weather at that time of year. Does anyone have any first-hand experience?

It's not a good time for Phi Phi or the west coast. You could get a lot of rain. You could also be lucky and be limited to daily deluges for anything from 30 minutes to a couple of hours. I had to go to Phuket in August in 2012 and the weather was definitely an issue.

The Eastern islands would be better, Phi Phi isn't a good percentage bet.
