Would someone swap land that he has taken for the last 10 years(for silage) in order for someone else to increase there grazing platform?
Say the person that's wanting to increase there grazing area by 40acres rents 40acres, a reasonable distance away, approaches the person who has been renting the land, And presuming its as good as the ground in question asks would he swap?
    What ya"s folks think??

Up to the land owners. If there happy to do it then work away.

Once everyone's happy then it'd be grand... There could be a bit of what's in it for me ...(or even sure I'm grand as I am why'd I risk change) A chat'd would tell a lot

You would need something else to bring to the deal. Land would want to be cheaper because other party has to travel further

Yeah. There has to be a sweetner for the fella renting the 40 for 10 years for him to move on..... a grand cash would do it :-)

Nothing eats up time like rented ground a distance from your base. A grand per year wouldn't be any good.

Your right. Suppose we need a bit more detail on the situation to make an informed response

As is he would be 4-5 miles from the ground

But how close is he to current ground? If both lots are 4-5 miles away from him he may be willing to talk but if the current is on his door step even if just getting silage he wont be to likely to jump, 4-5 miles adds a fair bit of transport to silage

It sounds good in theory, but you have to get 3 stakeholders to agree, main one being the other farmer (don't forget humans are creatures of habit).
Also would this proposition annoy the land owners who may look to up the rent or run the two of you

If the seat's wet, sit on yer hat, a cool head is better than a wet ar5e.
