Can you be disqualified for signing a score without applying the handicap? Basically...Played in a 3 man scramble today...finished the round -8 (61 strokes on par 69). At the end of the round we signed for 61..but never applied the 4.8 handicap..which would bring our score down to 56.2. The strokes are right..so that should be all that matters?

Not 100% certain but my first thought was that this is ok and should not be a disqualification

Were the handicaps on the card?

No..i dont think so. The printer wasn.t working today..which would normally print the names and handicap. So details had to be hand written.

No handicaps would be the reason for DQ, players responsibility to have them on the card.

I've seen people DQ'd over not having a handicap written on a card before. Also seen the same for no date on the card.

I replied earlier saying I thought it was ok but not now. I thought you meant the handicap wasn't written into the box where you take it from the gross score, I think that's ok

But if the handicaps weren't written on the top of card next to players names it's automatic DQ

Pretty sure the details that have to be on a card to avoid dq are:

    Name
    Handicap
    Date
    Competition

Plus signatures of marker & player of course

Put your handicap (or the team's h/c's) on the score card....NOT DONE..DQ
Put your scores for each hole in the correct place....NOT DONE..DQ
Signe your card after your round......NOT DONE..DQ

You need nothing else on the card, the committee should do the rest.ie Tot up the scores, apply the stated h/c etc.No date or comp name is necessary, although filling in all these details does help the committee in checking cards. There should also be an entry into a Competition Entry book.
In some Clubs failing to sign in their entry book will result in your DQ also.
