Has a phone ever died on you with plenty of power still left

I am refering to an old Nokia cell phone, basically I missed an important call last night and I know for sure I dint turn the phone off. There was also plenty of battery life left in it but I woke up this morning the phone was powered off, just wondering if anyone here has experienced this?

the battery can work loose on those, check the contacts.
