What is the difference between SFC with various commands and "Refresh" on W8.1?

Sfc will check and rebuild key system files for integrity. It's kinda weak.

Refresh actually rebuilds the entire OS essentially. Like the Tin says it keeps your documents but installed programs are wiped out. In doing so the system gets a clean slate free of potential software compatibility issues
