I usually just use my 9ft spinning rod for mackeral but now im thinking of getting something to cast that extra bit longer. Theres a beach near the inlaws that i wouldnt mind having a cast on.
A set up which would do both jobs would be great. I was looking at adverts but tbh, im not sure what i need.

11 foot bass rod and a fixed spool reel would work well for both. Not to heavy for casting feathers and not to light for the beach.
