How much would 200 duty-free cigarettes cost (superkingblack) in the Canary Islands and how many can be brought back to Ireland?

€17.00 and you can bring back as many as you can fit - all depends how big your bum is.

It's usually around 20euro for the big international brands.

200 from outside the EU. But I have friends who see how many cartons they can get passed customs without them caring and the record is 5 cartons of Marlboro.

But Revenue love checking bags from Eastern Europe and Duty free zones of Europe for cheap cigarettes. But they arent that picky on places like Dubai(you should see how much Duty free Irish people buy when a liter of Smirnoff is €10 and buy 2 get half a liter free).

Just checked it there and you can legally bring 800 cigs back from the Canaries for personal use, so four cartons is the limit.

Yeah you can bring more than 200. But they have to be for personal use. Might be difficult if you have more than one brand.

I used to laugh at the brits in the canaries trying to share 200 smokes between the family and the Irish buying 800 for each member of the family and the Brits just looking on confused :)

Think I need to go to specsavers but all I can see is 200 under tobacco.

Theres an Irish bloke today in the Indo being deported from Dubai for giving someone the finger (allegedly) so give him a ring and ask if he'll bring back some duty free tabs for ye. ( Though he might just give you the finger...allegedly)

Its 200 in that one, you're right. It says 800 in this one though:

Looked again. Its 800 for Spain but 200 for the canaries. I asked in the duty free shop in Dublin airport about the limit from Lanzarote and she told me that i can bring as much as i want . I didnt trust her though. I dont smoke but the wife does but had no bother in bringing home 1600 smokes in the suitcase.

You're right I misread it, the Canaries as a duty free zone are considered outside the EU by revenue.

So 200 and anything above is a gamble then.

Yeah, I wonder is it stringently enforced, I get the impression that very few are pulled up over bringing more from the Canaries.
