I really don't know where to put this.

I was wondering if anyone knows if Boots Pharmacys in NI charge the same prices in store as they charge for online prescriptions? Seems like I can save ~€100 by going up to get it filled in NI.

Remember down here, the maximum monthly cost per family is €150. Any costs over this is refunded. If you purchase in NI, it does not count.

Also, shop around down here - you'll find savings about.

I am aware of that yes. It's just that I will be buying 4 months supply as I am going travelling. It will cost €300+ in my normal pharmacy €150 from Healthwave or €40 from Newry. No brainer really.

It must be one of the products that has not yet changed to a new reference pricing model by the HSE where eventually all medicines will be sold here at the average european price.
It won;thappen overnight, but I use Avamys spray for hayfever and it dropped for €44 to just over €20.

The price of your Avamys may have dropped, but it wasn't due to reference pricing.

sorry - reference pricing is to do with generics - new average pricing is what has led to may items falling. http://www.hse.ie/eng/about/Who/cpu/PriceReductions.html

Thankfully avamys is the only medicine I've needed since my 20's (a long time ago) :D
