Seasonal Work

I'm moving abroad in a couple of weeks to work general labour on farms. Not great pay but better than being on the dole for me at this stage. I'm hoping to get in with a company that will keep me on after the busy season is over, but places like that are limited enough so I want to keep my options open.

As it stands I'm on jobseekers and going out of my mind doing nothing. I'm just wondering if I don't get some sort of full time position and have to come back in October will I have all sorts of trouble getting back on. I know if you leave a job it takes ages to get social welfare again but do they make exceptions for people who were doing seasonal work?

Good luck with the new job. It should be relatively straight foward to sign back on and it should not take long to get back into payment.
