I will be heading to India in 7 weeks so getting my tourist visa sorted.I have found the Indian Irish embassy online page and link to apply online for a visa
Only thing is every time I click on the link to fill the online form my computer says that this link is not safe - here is the page which came up on my screen when I hit on the link

( sorry boards wont allow me to post link as I am a new user)

Just want to make sure that I have the right page just in case. Also in the first drop down box that says Indian mission which office do I select as I see an office for New Dehli and Dublin

    Thanks

I was in the embassy this morning dropping off my visa form. In and out in 1 minute. Grand.

Been living & working in the UK past 5 years. Trying to get a visa to india as part of a bigger round the world trip. Irishembassy.ie website been hacked for weeks. About an hour onto them this morning after multiple automated hangups after waiting in a queue. Eventually spoke to a gentleman.
Turns out you need to apply in person with your passport & a passport photo, it takes approx 7 working days, costs €52 by bank draft / postal order. Online form available at www.indianvisaonline.gov.in. Asked about going to London instead & advised will still take same amount of time. Not really worth my while making two return trips to London from Liverpool.
All in all a bit of a ball ache which will delay my leaving date so going to have to bypass India & fly direct to Kathmandu. Oh well. Silly visa laws - obviously dont want tourist money. :(

It's defo good that you are thinking about this well in advance OP. In my own experience India is a bureaucratic nightmare, which can leave one extremely frustrated. It can be a case of queuing for an hour to get a ticket to join another queue, etc! In any case I would recommend going directly to the embassy, if at all possible.

Was deciding between India and Sri Lanka.

Went for Sri Lanka instead as the Visa situation was a complete ball ache and the Indian Embassy in Amsterdam lost a friends passport.

Sri Lanka was an online job for around 20 euros and took around 15 minutes.

Also got a SIM card on Arrival from Immigration !

I got one recently- filled in the form online then sent it to the embassy along with a passport pic, postal order and a registered envelope for return and got it back within a week with no hassle at all
