My mother has had Eircom Broadband since the early 2000's and she's paying 120 odd euro a month for 2gb internet with 30gb download limit, just wondering whether I can get this upgraded etc?

She lives about 4km from the nearest town (Virginia co cavan).

As is its nearly as bad as the old dial up sometimes.

€120 per month is an absolutely crazy price!

Get her to ring up or maybe with her permission you do it and see if they can give her a better offer.

They do it cheaper now... Obviously they'll never tell you.. But just threaten to leave they'll give you a better deal fairly lively then

Do you mean the bill is €120, or is she actually paying 120 a month?

Eircom generally give bills in a two monthly format.

Unless your mother is willing to sell her house, fixed wireless is probably the only option. According to Ireland Online's map, these two companies are available in that area:

It is probably €120 every 2 months. You should get her to ring eircom and ask if there is a cheaper package and then shop around.

Theres a lower package, but thats 1Mb capped.

Move house or fixed wireless. Theyre the two options.
