Premature Ejaculation

All my life I have suffered from PE.

So I was very hopeful when I saw the recent media campaign and the launch of takecontrol.ie

I thought that there was some new medical cure that could help me. PE isnt a mild inconvenience, it ****ing destroys my confidence to the point where I don't ask women out if I work with them or have mutual friends.

But upon visiting the www.takecontrol.ie website I find that its just the same **** and myths that have always been on the internet. Their treating PE techniques include:

Masturbating before sex - doesn't work. I can have sex with you 10 times in a night, each time I will ejaculate in 2mins

Wearing more than one condom - is a terrible idea as the condoms can work against each other and tear.

The ‘stop-start’ technique - yeah, because a woman will be happy to stop just as she's getting going...

Then there is a page of quotes from people with PE - but they all appear to be people suffering from PE, no one who has overcome it!

I'm not looking for someone to recommend a medicine or drug - I do not want medical advice from a stranger over the internet, but is there anything that can actually be done for PE?!

Circumcision is an option I think. And stopping and starting again in sex isn't a big deal really, nobody who likes you will care.

    Breathing is the key.

Don't hold your breath when you think your going to finish, take deep breaths and calm yourself.

Everyone has this once in a while

When it has happened to me, I found changing rhythm helped me out.

OP, have you been to a GP about this? Have you ruled out a physical cause for it? Have you been to a psychologist who specialises in sexual disfunctions? Have you tried taking drugs to see if they help? I think you were probably expecting too much from a generic website. You really need to speak to doctor if you haven't done so.

Have you considered using toys? Strapons and things like that? Saving yourself for the grand finale!

Are you sure you have pe?. All guys are concious of how long they last and their performance. I was with a guy with PE and he would only last 2 seconds.

This. And just because you stop having sex it doesn't mean you cant pleasure her in other ways.

Honestly, if a woman likes you enough to be intimate with you in the first place then she isn't going to mind if you just explain it to her.

    Me too.

I went to the doctor, useless. They sent me to a specialist in the Hospital. He gave me a numbing cream which worked to an extent overall but I wasn't cured and putting the cream on is awkward if sex is spontaneous or there's a chance of oral sex and there is a weird taste off your penis.

Edit: I went back to the doctor, told them that nothing really worked and have since been prescribed Viagra. 100mg tablets and you only need half per night which also still works the next morning. It doesn't cure it but it maintains an erection so even after you ejaculate you can keep going to what she 'hopefully' thinks is an adequate time for sex and even then, sometimes you have to fake an orgasm to make it and yourself look legitimated. For me though, if I'm having sex more than once or twice a night, usually on the 2nd or 3rd time I can go for a bit longer. But sometimes I don't come at all. Again, not ideal. Don't be fooled by porno's to think that every man goes for 20 minutes. I read recently that 3-5 minutes is NOT considered premature.

<Snip: Please don't mention online drugs. Any medication should be discussed and prescribed by a GP>

Getting into a new relationship is a daunting experience. You are so nervous and she hasn't a clue. It's not something you want to bring up, nor is the fact that you're using creams or tablets to try and perform better. Kinda silly really because in reality you're doing it all to satisfy her.

To be honest, for me, the best solution is alcohol. And lots of it. I can last a lot longer when I'm drunk. Again though, you can't be drunk every night.

I am going to try Yoga next. Maybe even tantric Yoga. From doing all the internet research available, I do think breathing is key. If that fails, I guess I just am destined to a lifelong prescription of Viagra.

Oh and doing very difficult mathematical sums in your head. Definitely works but I hate maths so it's a real chore for me.

I like to know what you're looking for....a means to extend your own pleasure, your partner's pleasure or both, however I can recommend Durex Extended Pleasure condoms, they reduce your overall sensation while having sex which reduces the timing of your climax. It does dull the sensation and I do believe they come in different strengths so there's a danger you may feel very little from the experience, but as someone who has used them I found them remarkable. Your partner feels no difference and may not even know that the inside of the condom is numbing you ever so slightly. After using these your confidence will grow and anxiety over PE will enable you to try and succeed in extending the process with lighter condoms.
    Hope this helps.
