Anyone have an honesty box for selling eggs or veg? Wife is looking for ideas for eggs, the hen addiction is getting out of control :)

We don't have one but a man a couple of miles up the road does. He has hen & duck eggs, veg when in season too.

€1.50 for a half dozen hen eggs, same for ducks.

It's literally a box, like a cupboard with the doors removed and a small 'lip' at the front. Has it sat/affixed on the wall, next to his gate. Inside it is a colemans mustard jar that you drop the money into (no joke:eek:)

Usually keeps a couple dozen in it, we also leave back egg boxes for him in it too. So the egg boxes protect from birds. He also has a sign opposite it so that drivers can notice it.

Honesty box up the road from my brothers.
Well a old van body actually
There is veg, eggs and plenty more.
    Very handy.
He has had a bit of trouble with a few clowns.
He put in a camera... No idea if it is real or a dummy.
The box has a lock on it and I'd say he empties money regularity.

It is there a couple years now and is popular enough.

three in operation near me. one fellow i drew a bit of silage for last summer, and asked him about it. they sell about four dozen eggs a day, and he says they have never been "done" in the money. sometimes there would be a dozen gone and no money left, but it would be left the next day. Just someone short change at the time. They also claim to never have actually seen anyone actually at the box! its just one of those plastic storage crates on a deck chair.
