    Hi all -

    My name is John and I am one of the founders of boards.ie. /me waves!

    I am also going to be trialling an ecar in September - yay! - as one of the new ESB ecar ambassadors for 2014/2015.

    It's been a while since the previous requests for an Electric Vehicles sub-forum of Motoring (2011, 2012), and with the growth in charging points and EVs, I'd like us to try again.

    There is a good group on Facebook for Irish EV Owners, but it may be interesting for those who are not yet owners / are looking to buy a car and get advice to have a dedicated forum on boards.ie.

    There are now 567 operational charging points in Ireland - 392 in ROI and 175 in NI. Fast charge points (charing batteries to 80% in ~20 minutes) are also being rolled out around the island.

    Looking forward to your feedback, and hopefully support!
