Ferns is your typical rural village/town.It has all the essentials.Shops,Pubs,Restaurant.Take Aways.

I find the best thing is to take a virtual tour using Google Street View.

One main benefit is it's central location: 10 mins to Gorey, same distance to Enniscorthy. An hour will get you to Dublin.

Ferns is ok. It has a 5 pubs(1 that serves good food), 2 chippers, a Chinese takeaway, barbers and hairdressers, 2 convenience stores/mini-markets, an applegreen petrol station with a subway within, churches, gaa club, soccer club, drama group, athletics club, gun club, a bookies, crèches, and a castle.
