Which looks better for my CV?

    I am looking for jobs and hoping for some advice. I have been in my current post for 15 months in the UK. For personal reasons living in the UK hasn't worked out and I want to go home sooner rather than later. I only stayed in my previous position for 6 months (change to funding meant I lost my job) and the one before that for 8 months (left for better pay/conditions). Before that I was a student but did private work for 3 years and worked for one company for 4 years part time.

    So far my job search is not going well. My options as I see it are;

    - hang on here until I find something suitable, although it is difficult to attend interviews and jobs are scarce, plus my notice period is 12 weeks which I think is off putting to potential employers.
    - hand in my notice, go home and I could take on some agency work, look at taking on some part time private work or take a job similar to what I had been doing while I was a student.

    Originally my plan was the first option, but having started my job search back in November that option is now less appealing. My concern about the second option is how my CV will look - my current position was an advancement, so taking a step back may look strange? and if I take a job to tide me over it may end up being another short-term job on my CV, making it look like I am unreliable?

    I would appreciate any thoughts or advice!

    What is your job?

    How many months can you survive unemployed in Ireland?

    I work in Social Care, I haven't thought specifically about how long I could manage unemployed, but I wouldn't have any rent to pay and have savings so it's not a major issue, although I would prefer not to have to use my savings
