Sky catchup

I have sky multi room, sky plus box downstairs and I switched to a new Sky plus 2tb box upstairs the other day. Before that I just had a normal sky hd box upstairs. Everything is working fine on the new box except there's no catchup on it. It's connected to the broadband and on demand is working fine but catchup just never appeared on the box. I have it on the box downstairs anyway but would like to get it upstairs too if I can. Any ideas? I've already tried rebuilding the planner and resetting the box.

Is this on the multiroom box? I don't think you can record on a multiroom box, therefore no pause, no catchup etc.

Yeah it's the multiroom box, but I can pause, record, use on demand...just no catchup. It's really confusing me!

Presumably because you have your existing SKY+ box you can use the pause live tv, record etc. The standard multiroom box supplied has no disk drive, therefore can't record or download.
When you say you can use "on demand" but not catchup, what exactly is the issue - what can you actually download to the box? SKY seem to use On Demand and catchup interchangeably. Can you see on the menu and download previous episodes from SKY1, Sky Atlantic etc?

I was using the standard multi room set up until a few days ago when I got a plus box installed upstairs also. So it does have a drive in it. The box downstairs has an on demand section and a catch up section. In the catchup section I can access the tv3 player and others, so get access to some programmes that aren't in the on demand section. Everything is on the upstairs box except the catchup. It's not a major problem but after paying an extra €200 for the new setup you'd expect everything to work!

Movies "On Demand", I presume? I don't actually have a movies sub, so I thought you were referring to the general "on demand" service:o
You may have to give SKY a call to turn on the catch up TV service on your old SKY+ box. I'm presuming you don't have the box set download capability on your second box either, or is it specifically catchup up tv which is not working?

It's specifically the catchup, box sets are downloading fine :) I'd be pulling my hair out if they weren't. That was the main reason for the second box. There was major fighting going on over the memory on the downstairs box :D I think I've finally figured it out. The menu on the upstairs box is looking the same way as the old box did before the software update they released a few weeks back, so I think it just needs the new update. Going to give them a ring in the morning to see if I can get it myself or do I have to wait for the box to pick it up itself.

I think you can do a forced update of the software - check out the sky help forum for instructions

Thanks for the help guys :) Found how to force the update on google. It's a lot easier to find the solution once you've worked out what the problem is! Catchup is now on the box :)

Ok - glad you got sorted. My SKY+ box had catch up on the old EPG and just got the new EPG last week. Don't know why you had box sets working but not catch up?
