    Hi

I'd steer clear of the Jawbone anyway. Don't get me wrong - I loved mine (while it worked).
The pedometer & sleep monitors were great, but after having it for about 3 months, I just had endless problems.

As I said, I had been happily using the band for 3 months, and all of a sudden it wouldn't sync with my phone.

I googled the problem and tried out all the solutions; but no luck. I contacted the company and to be fair to them, the responded very quickly and suggested a few more things I could try....again, no luck. So, they arranged for a replacement to be posted out to me which arrived a week later.

    Problem solved? Unfortunately not.

Took my new band out of the package and charged it up. Happily trotted off to the gym that evening and when I got home, I connected the band to my phone so see how many steps I'd done. It was dead....I thought 'hmm...maybe it just hadn't charged properly' so charged it again and hit the sack for the night. Following morning, it was dead again.

Contacted the company again and went through the routine of trying their 'fixes'; but no luck. they sent me out yet another replacement.

Band no 3 arrived a week later and worked like a charm for about 2 weeks. Then as with my original band, it just wouldn't sync with my phone.

Eventually got a refund from the company, but was so disappointed overall.

TL:DR - jawbone bands have the potential to be great, but seem to be VERY unreliable and ultimately disappointing.

Hi Bannana_split thanks so much for the reply I was reading up on all the info and was just bogged down ! Reliability is a big thing and I think I will say clear of the jawbone thanks for the feedback :)

i used the fitbit flex there for a few days... my father in law had it delivered to my house and asked me to try it out....

seems to work pretty ok... kept track of my steps and calorie expenditure thereabouts i think - not sure how accurate it is if your doing interval training and kept a reasonable track of my sleep... told me i woke on average 18 times a night...

didnt like the food tracker part - MFP is better

I have the FitBit Flex too and I have it synced up with MFP. I just put my food into MFP as normal and it sends that info over to FitBit who do all the calories burned/consumed calculations.

I love my FitBit and it's definitely helped me to become more active. I find the insights it gives very good too.

didnt know you could send the data from MFP to fitbit, this is good news, as i have all my recipes and lunch / dinner combos in that...

Other way round rick. Use mfp as normal and connect the fitbit to it-all your exercise data is transferred immediately.

There's a new jawbone coming out so I'd wait for that, it's a lot more subtle than the current model and has a lot more functionality

The Polar Loop or Garmin Vivofit are options that everyone seems to overlook for some reason.
