    Hi All

Just wondering if anyone can supply information on the systems installed by Activ8. We had their sales pitch last night and I for one am not entirely comfortable with the one chance to buy at this price policy they appear to have.

Is there anyone on here who has had their system installed who could give me some pointers? Is there a genuine list of recommended installers available?

I am not looking for company bashing but would welcome any advice.

    Thanks in advance

    Rua

There are a few companies out there who use a pressure sales system; You are encouraged to take a one-time opportunity to get a massive discount on an inflated price. Why would a salesperson be able to give you this price today, and not tomorrow? Becasue once you talk to your mates, you will probably have changed your mind. So typically a system "normally" €8K can be yours for €6K, but your mates tomorrow will tell you that the same system is available from others for €4K.

The consumer protection on changing your mind doesn't apply because you invited them to your house. I know it doesn't feel like that, but technically you did. They usually want you and your partner there to jointly sign. Its a stitch-up.

Look for companies who can give you a rough price before they have to call out.

I don't know of anything wrong with their system hardware - just their sales technique and pricing structure.

We got our solar installed by them via a project manager ...didn't find them bad until a problem 2 years in they would not repair the fault

And there endit the lesson for today....
Large companies supplying renewables, plumbing and heating either go out of business, your left with a piece of equipment form middle earth that no local plumber could or would repair and secondly have zero customer service after the fact.

Why pay for over priced salespeople for something your local plumber does.
