After a 125k spin around Wicklow at the weekend I woke up this morning with a very sore hamstring. Feels very hot at times! Anyway I have never torn my hamstring so not sure how severe this is. I can walk fine and just feels a bit tight when I extend my leg. Bought an ice pack this evening so going to ice it a few times a day and lay off the bike until Monday.

    Any other tips?

Possibly some minor adjustments to your cleats required, if unbalanced you may be putting excessive pressure on one part of the muscle.

    It's not torn so.

A torn hamstring is quite a bad injury and you know something is badly wrong straight away.

have you much riding done on the bike? hamstring pain can be a sign of a saddle too high

Good point. I do about 180k a week on average, took my saddle off last week and forgot to mark it!

I will leave it a few days before I get back on the bike and will lower it a inch or two.

    Thanks fellas

Something similar has happened me twice. I suggest staying off the bike for a few days, and then easing back into it. Hamstring stretches are a big help, even after you've recovered.
